This policy covers Montgomery Farmers Market — the website, the vendor portal, our emails and our text messages. It says what we collect, why we have it, and who else ever sees it.
Text messages
We do not share or sell mobile phone numbers, or consent to be texted, to anybody for their own marketing. No third party receives your number for that purpose, ever.
Your number is passed only to the messaging provider that delivers the text on our behalf, and only in order to send it. Nobody buys it, nobody rents it, and it does not travel with a mailing list.
We text about running the market: market days, cancellations, late starts and your tent. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to any message to stop them, or HELP for help. Vendors can also turn texts off in the vendor portal under Account Settings. Opting out of texts never affects your standing as a vendor — you still get the same information by email and in the portal.
What we collect
- If you apply to be a vendor: your business name, contact name, email, phone, what you sell, your website, and any photos you attach.
- If you are accepted: the documents the market has to hold — insurance certificates, permits and licenses — along with their expiry dates, plus your profile, products, which market days you attend and when you checked in.
- If you pay through the site: the amount, the date and the last four digits of the card. Full card numbers never reach us — they go straight to our payment processor.
- If you subscribe or contact us: your email, and your name and message if you gave them.
- When you use the vendor portal: a login session, and a record of messages between you and the market.
Why we have it
To run a farmers market: to decide applications, to hold the paperwork a market is required to hold, to take booth fees, to tell you whether Saturday is going ahead, and to put a vendor list and a map together each week. We do not build profiles, and we do not use any of it for advertising.
Who else sees it
Only the services that make the site work. Each one gets the minimum it needs to do its job, and none of them is permitted to use it for anything else:
- Supabase — stores the database and the uploaded files.
- Vercel — runs the website itself.
- Resend and Brevo — deliver our email.
- Brevo and Twilio — deliver our text messages.
- Stripe — takes card payments. Card details go to Stripe directly and are never stored on our systems.
Beyond those, we share information only when the law requires it. We do not sell personal information, and we never have.
Email tracking
Our market emails contain a small invisible image that tells us whether a message was opened, and links that record whether they were clicked. We use it to see whether an announcement reached people. Turning images off in your email program prevents it.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in to the vendor portal and to remember which tab of the dashboard you were last on. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers on this site.
How long we keep it
Vendor records and documents are kept while you sell at the market and afterwards for as long as we may need them — expired certificates matter for insurance, and payment records matter for accounts. Subscribers who unsubscribe stay on the list marked as unsubscribed rather than deleted, so that we do not accidentally email them again after a later import. Ask us to delete your details and we will, except where we are required to keep a record.
Your choices
- Email: every market announcement has an unsubscribe link.
- Texts: reply STOP, or use the vendor portal.
- Your information: write to us and we will tell you what we hold, correct it, or delete it.
Children
The site is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. A young person selling at the market applies through a parent or guardian.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell you directly.
